The first step in the landscaping.

The outside continues to progress, the whole house is now painted, although they will have to go around and do one final coat once they have stopped work.

The sky is a little different from the last few posts. The brickie was relieved that the rain held off as he was finishing the side wall. This is going to be interesting as the pillars were suppose to be much taller, but there everyone was concerned about stability, so it was agreed to limit their height.  Next they have to figure out how to attach the trellis in a way that will cope with the wind.

The plan for the front garden is coming together, for a while we couldn't get the gate and possible future entrance for a driveway to work without having several small sections of walls. Not to mention the lack of nice gates, (there is a surprising lack of interesting gates out there).  The solution is to make a feature of the corner, only building a low wall along the straight sections on the front and side. This will leave the entire bend open, creating a view into the garden and allowing the path and drive to be naturally worked into the garden. It also removes the need for gates.
