A lovely sunny day, so it is getting a little frustrating not being able to do anything at all in the garden. So another day helping the builders out, continuing the painting with the first coat on the back of the side extension and the ghost coat on the side. I caved and used the roller given the height and size of the side wall, it was very messy, but thankfully is done now.
At the same time, the render continues to go on the front, the old part to the house is now totally covered and ready for the smooth coat. By the time it is all dry, the back and side should be totally painted.
Inside the house, a man turned up to do the kitchen worktop template. It is very clever the way they do it now, using sheeting to cut out the required slabs, writing on dimensions and instructions for cut outs. It was strange how even this thin sheeting made such a big difference to the look of the kitchen.
While they are off producing the actual worktop the finishing touches can be made to the kitchen, with skirting boards etc being fitted. The fridge and extractor fan can be put in place. The builder will also have to be brave and see if the oven housing fits in the space that was so carefully built.
Something tells me it is not going to be a very restful bank holiday weekend.
