In the initial weeks, every day sees big changes and progress is quick. Then at the end, there are lots of little jobs, and each time you cross one thing off the list something else gets added. In most areas, there are probably only a day or so of work, it's just that the list of things to complete just seems endless.
The cooker hood is in place, although it is not wired in or vented yet. The rest of the appliances are apparently not going to be fitted until the painter has finished.
The doors to the kitchen, utility and bathroom have been fitted. They need a fair amount of tidying up before painting, but at least the decorators can do that.
The stairwell is pretty much finished now. A few patches need touching up, and the beams need their top coats. It is very bright, especially in the afternoons when the sun comes straight through the skylight.
The little alcove has worked out really well. The builder blocked it from the studio side ensuring it stays nice and deep.
Something tells me this will be a joint custody space, with it being used to display orange glass vases (which mysteriously seem to be increasing in number) during the summer and plants (which also seem to be mysteriously increasing in number) over winter.
