It is funny how the end of the week always seems slower than the start. My painting has slowed down for the last couple of days, not as much to do, plus running out of paint didn't help. The patio is progressing
The stones for the top of the wall are still a problem, I think we are going to have to just go for something totally different as we don't want to look like we were trying to match and failed (which we have). So far this is the best we have found.
If it was smooth like the floor ones then we would go for it, but not sure if it being "riven" is too much of a difference. We will not miss having to make decisions that is for sure.
Inside, the painters have started on the woodwork. Base coat is on the stairs and it shows that there is a fair amount of fillig still to go. It was worth all the work to strip them though, and even more so as the painters did the sanding and last bit of really messy work.
The floors are almost finished as well. Only two small bits to be cut and that is done. The photo is quite a good representation of the colour and I like the long runs of wide planks going through the house.
All the skirting boards and door frames in this part of the house are finished, only the kitchen to go. There are a lot more sections to work around with the different peers, so it wont be as quick as the rest of the house. Plus the door to the utitlity room is an old door from when we joined the upstairs toilet to the bathroom, so the door frame has to be made to fit.
No doubt the next week will be lots of little steps, I think we are past the last of the big changes in one day.
