Ok rant over, let face it, when I have ever actually accepted a price, they are just a starting point for discussion, right. In the search for something different we visited In-Toto kitchens and actually found one that was a possible.
Our main concern was if the grey was going to be too dark and over powering. Almost all our cupboards are below counter so we will not have a bank of grey like this, but even here we didn't think it is was dark. What do you think?
Perhaps the only annoying thing is that it turned out to be a very similar colour to the floor tiles we were going for. That is going to be a tough one, but as there are plenty of colours in tiles, better to get the kitchen and work form there.
With a possible kitchen selected next up was the worktops. Much internet searching and research later it seemed to recycled glass & resin was looking good. We particularly liked a company that allowed you to specify the worktop based on what you drink, I can just imagine describing our worktop colour as "50% wine, 40% cider and 10% vodka".
Quartz also seemed popular and has the good stain resistance required. The showroom man was suitably impressed by the technical terms being dropped into conversation about the size of the bits of stone. It was generally agreed that medium sized was best and we even agreed on colour.
It is a bit scary that we actually seem to be agreeing about things, at this rate I'll agree that orange splash backs are the way forward.
