And they're off

It seemed to take for ever, but work finally started in the fist week of January. Within a few days the foundations were in

It's a good job we hadn't started on the garden, or maybe they knew I wanted some height in the front:

The rockery in the back:

The back went up really quickly:

3 weeks in and it was up with a temporary roof, and the side was under way. Then the weather really kicked in with rain on most days, so it has taken a while to get the side up to roof level.

With the new front door in place it is starting to take shape:

Fingers crossed that there will be a few days without rain, so the poor builders can get the roof on the side. As this roof has to connect to the existing slope, a few clear days are needed.

We're getting impatient to see how the house looks with twin peaks.
