Almost forgot

In the excitement of yesterday, I forgot to mention that there was another big step: the beams in the studio went in.

They are level I promise, but the photo makes them uneven.

There are three of them, the middle one is slightly structural tying the two sides of the room together, the other two are purely cosmetic.

The decorators had a fit, when they walked in and found holes in their freshly painted room. The builder was his normal laid back self, insisting it was only a tiny fill and sand and touch up of the paintwork.

The studio is probably the brightest room in the house now due to the south facing roof lights.  The idea is that they will be very useful to hang things from, but quite a step ladder will be needed to reach them.

Mean while today we had our first visitors to and sat out on the patio with tea and cake.  The unpacking has continued, most of it has to be washed to remove months of building dust.

Forgive the shoes, we now have messy outside shoes and clean inside shoes. 

It looks like there is already stuff everywhere, but actually that has all be put away. It also means we can actually see the lounge again.  It is very strange not having to totally live out of one room.
