It has finally stopped raining

With the sun comes the roof, and everything happened at such a rate that it even caught the builder out. Within one day the old tiles and battens had been removed, and the whole roof was felted and re-battened. Day two and most of it was tiled.

The fibreglass valley is now properly visible, even if it is a little dirty

The side extension almost has a whole roof and with this, the skylights have gone in.

Inside the studio the amount of light the roof-lights generate is becoming clear, along with the nice vaulted ceiling

The main window is all blocked up at the moment, so the only light is from these two.

Inside the house, the kitchen is being skimmed, but it is too messy to take photos. It's funny what bits generate mess; the major building work was quite clean, but taking the roof off has generates SO much mess, including these initially confusing lines in the hall and up the stairs.  It took me a while to work out that it was dust that had come down between the edge of the main beams and the plasterboard.

The doors have all been sealed up ready for removing the plaster on the staircase wall.  This got damp and blew and has to be taken off. This is going to be very messy, so it's good not to be there. The skylight will be put in the roof at the same, providing the light to that part of the hall.  Hopefully that will be the worst of the dusty work will be out of the way in one go. Once it is plastered it is onto the flooring and painting.

Finally one last look at the outside, and the twin peaks are coming together.
