Another step closer.

The windows have arrived and were fitted making the side extension totally water tight. It is strange seeing it without them all blocked up.

Looking into the studio from door
Looking into the small room from door
The photo on the left shows the view into the small room that looks out into the front. These windows had to match the current ones in the front under our planning regulations. The photo on the right, shows the studio and they match the new windows in the kitchen.

The light levels are a bit of an illusion. The studio is much brighter, even with the scaffolding blocking the window. The small room is not dark though and will look better once the roof is lowered to standard height, making it better proportioned.

While the final bits of plasterboard are added in the side, the plasterer has been getting on with the kitchen and utility room.  I don't think there has been a photo of the utility yet, it is small and doesn't really show much, but it is now all skimmed and ready for decorating.

The back part of the kitchen / dinner is skimmed as well, the lines are all neat and crisp.

View from outside utility across to kitchen wall
The plasterer is onto the last wall, but we were more interested how the windows looked and how much light they provide.  They look so small in the space, but will be bigger once there is stuff in there to compare against.

View towards windows
So windows in, only the skylights and patio doors to go. The skylights are ready for when the scaffolding comes down and they can do the roof on the back.  Then it is just waiting for the doors to arrive.

View from patio doors
In the mean time this should all dry out over the weekend and then next week it is onto the painting. We will not miss doing the ghost coats, which are 50% water and goes EVERYWHERE, but we will probably sneak in and at least do some of the base coats, so we can say we helped! Or apparently only one of us might be tempted.
